Möderndorf is a historic district of the town of Hermagor-Pressegger See in Carinthia, southern Austria. It sits between the rugged Carnic Alps to the south and the gentle Gailtaler Höhe to the north – quiet, rural, with sweeping views.

By car or bike all the region's main attractions are just minutes away. On foot, it's about 20 minutes into Hermagor's town centre with supermarkets, cafés and small shops. Right in Möderndorf, two traditional inns are open during the summer season – perfect for a relaxed evening after a day on the mountain or at the lake.

How to find us

By car

Via the A2 / A10 (Tauern motorway) to Villach, then the B111 (Gailtal main road) to Hermagor. From Italy: via the Plöckenpass or A23 to Tarvis, then B83.

By train

Hermagor station is served several times a day from Villach. From Vienna, take the Railjet to Villach and change there once for the train to Hermagor. From Hermagor station it is a 10-minute taxi or bus ride to us.

By air

Closest airport: Klagenfurt (KLU, ~1 hour by car).
